After losing two blog databases due to hardware failures, I decided it was time to build my own home on the internet.
Goals:
- Use the tools I enjoy:
- Maintain content as markdown files in a git repo
- Simple and affordable deployment
I will blog about some of the things I've learned:
- Using NimblePublisher with Mdex for custom markdown parsing
- Dark mode toggling with TailwindCSS while respecting the system theme (try the sun/moon icon in the top right)
- Hosting on Fly.io with autosleep
And have plans to add things as I go:
